Endless Mountains Heritage Region | Nonprofit preserving landscapes & heritage through conservation
The Endless Mountains Heritage Region (EMHR) is a nonprofit, membership-based organization founded in 1998 to protect, promote & sustain the cultural and natural resources of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Endless Mountains region. As one of the Commonwealth’s officially designated PA Heritage Areas, EMHR champions environmental conservation, education & historic preservation across a region known for its rolling hills, scenic trails & deep-rooted community values.
Supporting Heritage Through Partnerships & Stewardship
For over 25 years, EMHR has offered funding, programming and capacity-building support to municipalities, public schools and local heritage partners. Their mission goes beyond preservation—it’s about connecting people to place, helping communities thrive through investments in outdoor recreation, heritage tourism, and educational outreach. Whether restoring historic sites or improving trail access, their collaborative efforts reflect a commitment to both past and future generations.
Land That Inspires Exploration & Community Pride
The region’s protected landscapes provide year-round opportunities for outdoor recreation, including hiking, biking, camping and wildlife viewing. EMHR encourages residents and visitors to engage with the land while fostering an appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural significance of the Endless Mountains. Through public programs and volunteer opportunities, they invite everyone to be part of their conservation story.
