Fair Hill Therapeutic Riding Center | Nonprofit offering equine-assisted therapy & empowerment in Pennsylvania
Fair Hill Therapeutic Riding Center (FHTRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2007 to provide Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) to children and adults with physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs. Through carefully guided therapeutic horseback riding sessions, FHTRC creates a unique and dynamic connection between horse and rider—fostering physical wellness, emotional growth, and newfound independence in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Therapeutic Riding That Builds Strength & Confidence
At the heart of FHTRC’s programming is Therapeutic Horseback Riding (TR), a non-traditional form of therapy that leverages the horse’s natural rhythmic movement to mirror the human gait. This movement stimulates the rider’s body, encouraging improvements in balance, muscle tone, core strength, and motor coordination. It also enhances cognitive function and sensory integration—making TR an effective, holistic approach to therapy for individuals with diverse abilities.
Promoting Personal Growth Through Horsemanship
Beyond physical therapy, FHTRC emphasizes the development of horsemanship skills that empower participants to become more self-aware and confident. Riders learn to care for and bond with their horses, gaining emotional resilience, communication skills, and a sense of purpose. The center’s inclusive, supportive setting helps every participant reach personal goals while embracing new challenges with enthusiasm and joy.
Fair Hill Therapeutic Riding Center harnesses the healing power of horses to help individuals of all abilities grow physically, emotionally & socially in a supportive, empowering space.
