Mission Statement
To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Inc. (JANEPA) is a nonprofit, educational organization that serves approximately 12,000 young people in kindergarten through 12th grade each school year.
Since 1919, Junior Achievement’s purpose has been to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and understand business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. JANEPA offers virtual, in-school and capstone programs focused on three key content areas: entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness.
All of JANEPA’s programs and classes are taught by volunteers from the local business community. The Junior Achievement curriculum is designed to be practical and realistic. Volunteers offer invaluable education by relating classroom material to personal and professional experiences.
JANEPA provides children with positive adult role models who illustrate ways to build self-confidence, develop skills and find avenues of success in our free enterprise system.
