The Recovery Bank is a nonprofit, peer-driven recovery support center located in Scranton. It offers a safe, welcoming space for individuals recovering from substance use disorder and their loved ones. The organization empowers people to rebuild their lives physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and financially, with a focus on long-term wellness rather than just treatment. Staff and volunteers—many of whom are in recovery themselves—share personal stories to provide support and inspire hope for those on the same path.
Peer Support and Personal Empowerment
By fostering connections between individuals in recovery, The Recovery Bank builds a strong sense of community. Volunteers and peers offer empathy, guidance and encouragement to help others succeed in their recovery journey. The Recovery Bank supports whole-person growth through a wide variety of free programs. These include fitness and yoga classes, GED and job readiness programs, college prep resources and creative outlets like art classes and social gatherings. These services promote confidence, build new skills and encourage healthier lifestyles.
