Each month, kids 12 and older will learn about art history and culture in this interactive art program at the Library. In Masterpiece Imposters everyone is an artist, and each attendee will get the chance to create their own masterpiece in the medium and conditions the famous historical figure used. In May we will be focusing on Michelangelo, the original Renaissance man, and will learn about the time period he was making art, what kind of art tools he used, and what his pieces looked like and depicted. Following this brief history lesson, teens will be given the chance to paint artwork lying down, replicating how Michelangelo painted the ceilings of the Sistine Chapel on his back. Registration is limited and required. Register online.
