The Delaware Highlands Conservancy hosts a free community Meadow Party on Saturday, September 7th from 11am-4pm at the 144-acre Van Scott Nature Reserve, 571 Perkins Pond Rd, Beach Lake, PA.

At this special free community event, guests will enjoy an “Amazing Animal Adaptations” presentation from Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, plus Adam Swartz Puppets performing Joe Flashlight, CSI (Creature Story Investigator). The day will also include an easy yoga class, introduction to fly fishing, guided trail walks and crafts, and food for purchase. Attendees may also bring their own picnics to enjoy (please bring a blanket or camp chairs).

The schedule for the day includes:

11:00: Meditation and Yoga with Liz Huntington – Begin your morning with a calm and relaxing start to the day. Bring along with you a yoga mat or blanket and learn breathing techniques and simple poses that you can incorporate into your daily routine.

11:30: Adam Swartz Puppets Performing Joe Flashlight, CSI (Creature Story Investigator) – Join Joe Flashlight, puppet detective, as he works with investigator-in-training, Alice the Fox, to solve animal mysteries. With your help, Joe and Alice investigate strange noises, crumpled carrots and missing pets, and discover who stole the cookie from the cookie jar. Learn about wild and domesticated animals while practicing your detective skills.

1:00: Amazing Animal Adaptations with Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center – Join Pocono Wildlife as they introduce us to some of their live animal ambassadors and discuss adaptations for many different types of species!

2:30: Introduction to Fly Fishing with Nick Rubicco – Ever been interested in casting your line with fly fishing? Join the Catskill angler for a 1-hour beginner lesson on how to cast a line while learning the ethics and etiquette of fly-fishing!
