Scranton Prep Players Present Something Rotten!

Scranton Preparatory School is proud to announce its upcoming high-energy production of the Tony-nominated musical comedy “Something Rotten!” directed by Colin Holmes. This uproarious musical, written by John O’Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick, with music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, promises an evening of laughter, romance, and toe-tapping tunes.

Set in the 1590s, “Something Rotten!” follows the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers struggling to make a name for themselves in the shadow of the great William Shakespeare. When a soothsayer predicts that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting all at once, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world’s very first musical, encountering a hilarious series of mishaps and misunderstandings along the way.

With infectious musical numbers, witty dialogue, and a cast of colorful characters including Shakespeare himself, “Something Rotten!” is a rollicking celebration of the joy of theater and the power of creativity.
