Runners & Walkers Hit the Streets of the Electric City
On April 3, hundreds of runners and walkers gathered for the 9th Annual Scranton Half Marathon. The 13.1-mile adventure began at PenFed Field at Memorial Stadium and made its way throughout downtown Scranton and the surrounding neighborhoods. Each year, the race brings exposure and revenue to many local business.
Runners ventured through the historic Green Ridge section. Then, the course lead them downtown past Scranton’s iconic Iron Furnaces. At the 7.5-mile mark, the course took the runners through the natural beauty of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, bringing them to an exciting final loop on the track at Memorial Stadium.
To capture all the excitement, of course we had to bring the camera along. Check out some of the highlights from today’s race.
