The Hazleton Area Public Library is a member of the Luzerne County Library System. This library, housed in a sturdy Greek revival building, sits in the heart of bustling Hazleton. The library offers access to over 160,000 books and other lending materials, a thorough reference library, information databases, Rosetta Stone Language programs, and digital newspapers and magazines. The library is a great resource for children and teens. There is a wealth of information available to young people through POWER Library which gives access to thousands of periodicals, newspapers, charts, maps, and photographs, and there are regular story times and events scheduled for children of all ages. Teen Time is a monthly program that welcomes teenagers from grades 7-12 to participate in fun, community building activities like crafts, building robots and theater. There are four branches of the Luzerne Hazleton Area Public Library, which include the Freeland, Nuremberg, South Side, and Valley branches. Hours of operation at each location may vary.
