The Historic Tunkhannock Walking Tour invites visitors to explore the rich architectural and cultural heritage of this picturesque Endless Mountains town. This self-guided tour covers a scenic two-mile route through downtown Tunkhannock, with 40 historic stops that showcase the town’s enduring beauty and historical significance. From ornate Victorian mansions and historic churches to civic landmarks and preserved storefronts, each location tells a piece of the story that earned Tunkhannock its place on the National Register of Historic Places.

Most of the featured structures date back to the 1800s, offering a close-up look at the design and craftsmanship of a bygone era. Along the way, you’ll walk past stunning examples of Queen Anne and Colonial Revival architecture while discovering how the town’s history continues to shape its present-day charm.

Brochures for the self-guided tour, including a detailed map and descriptions of each stop, are available at the Dietrich Theater. The full tour takes about two hours to complete, making it the perfect afternoon outing for history buffs, architecture lovers, and casual explorers alike.
