A Gateway to the D&L Trail

The Lehigh Canal Park is a small wooded park along the Lehigh River. It serves as the Weissport Trailhead to the D&L Trail, where you’ll find great views of the old canal locks and historic buildings.

You can easily access four sections of the D&L Trail from the park. Head north to take the Jim Thorpe East Section, which follows 3.5 miles of towpath along the old canal. Take the southern route to access the Parryville Spur Section, which is 1.3 miles long. If you cross the river on Bridge Street, you’ll find the Lehighton Spur to the north, which will take you one mile through town. To the south, you can hop on the Weissport – Marvin Gardens Section, which is 3.6 miles long.

Parking is available off of Bridge Street and Canal Street.
