Schuylkill County Council for the Arts: A Creative Hub in the Historic Yuengling Mansion

Since 1978, the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts (SCCA) has been the heart of Pottsville’s creative community. Located in the beautifully preserved Yuengling Mansion, this nonprofit organization provides a welcoming space for local artists and cultural groups to gather, collaborate, and share their work with the public.

The SCCA supports artists of all disciplines—from painters and writers to musicians and performers. Their mission is to unite the community through the power of the arts while preserving one of Pottsville’s most iconic buildings. The historic mansion itself offers a stunning backdrop for creative events and a touch of old-world charm.

Events, Exhibits & Performance

Throughout the year, the Council hosts a wide range of events, including live music, art exhibits, theatrical performances, poetry readings, and seasonal favorites like holiday markets and spooky ghost tours. These gatherings offer something for everyone and help foster a deeper appreciation for local talent.

Creative Workshops & Classes

The SCCA also offers workshops and classes for adults and children, helping artists of all levels refine their skills or explore something new. From painting and photography to music lessons and writing seminars, the Council is committed to creative education and growth.

Whether you’re looking to catch a concert, admire local artwork, or get hands-on with a creative workshop, the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts is a place where imagination and inspiration thrive.
