Firsthand history

The Tamaqua Historical Society is not your average museum. With three Tamaqua locations, the society aims to create a well-rounded lesson in history. The main feature is the Tamaqua Area Historical Museum. This is where you’ll find plenty of artifacts and documents, as well as a gallery. The museum also hosts special events throughout the year.

After the museum, you can check out The Moser Log Home and the Hegarty Blacksmith Shop. These two preserved sites allow visitors to get up close and personal with history.

The museum even offers groups tours for classes and organizations. During your visit, the society’s staff will answer any of your questions and help with all of your research needs. Regardless of your reason for stopping by, you’ll surely learn something new.
