New Life for the Old Trolley Line
The Keystone College to Factoryville segment of the Trolley Trail follows 1.7 miles along the old Northern Electric Trolley railbed. Countryside Conservancy maintains the trail, which is a popular spot for walking and biking.
The trail passes through Keystone College’s Woodlands Campus for a relaxing walk through the forest. It continues into downtown Factoryville. The gravel pathways are smooth and gentle, making it a peaceful, easy trail for the entire family. Parking is available in downtown Factoryville and near the Keystone College football field.
The Trolley Trail also has completed segments from La Plume to Dalton and from Clarks Summit to Dalton. All sections can be connected with on-road routes. Countryside Conservancy plans on expanding the trail so that it eventually connects Clarks Summit to Lake Winola.
Accessibility
The trail features a very slight incline and a crushed stone surface. Three accessible, paved parking spaces with striped access aisles are available at Keystone College above the football field.
