Spotting NEPA's Critters Along the Susquehanna River
We escaped recently for a quick visit to the scenic trails at the Susquehanna Riverlands in Berwick. This popular spot makes for the perfect place for wildlife viewing. Turtles soaking up the sun on a nearby log or a heron perched on a branch are just a few of the animals you might see during your visit.
Stroll along the 2.8-mile loop trail and take in the gorgeous sights of Lake Took-a-while. For more of a woodland adventure check out the Riverside Trail that runs parallel to the Susquehanna River. This trail will take you through fields and a tall riparian forest.
Journey down to the water and take in the fresh air or bring your binoculars and try to spot a few of the 230+ bird species that frequent the Riverlands. We brought the camera along on our venture to capture it all. Check out our highlights!
