NEPA’s Apple Orchards Conjure the Magic of Fall with Fresh-Pressed, Homegrown Cider
It’s apple season, y’all! That means pies, cakes, apple butter, apple sauce and, oh… Idk… about a hundred other ways to consume these delicious autumn delights. But today, we’re talking about apple cider. Whether you warm it up, mull it, spike it, or drink it straight from the carton, if you go through the fall without a single taste of cider, you’re doing something wrong.
The simultaneously tart, tangy and sweet nectar is big business in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Most of the cider producers, however, are small, family-run operations. You can find local offerings in the supermarket, at farm stands, orchards and your favorite farmers market. And, as with most good things in NEPA, you don’t have to travel far to find it.
To help you get your autumn apple fix, check out this convenient list of local cider hot spots.
