Stunning Art Deco Architecture Brings To Life Vault 240's Speakeasy Vibe

Hot on the heels of their grand opening in early July, we got a personal tour inside the “exclusively inclusive” Vault 240, a brand-new private social club in Hawley.

Settlers Hospitality, a multi-concept hospitality corporation with a suite of hotels, dining experiences and lifestyle brands is behind the premiere members-only facility. The group purchased the former Hawley Bank, which opened in 1929, and meticulously restored the Art Deco aesthetic, leaving an authentic speakeasy space featuring rich colors on the walls and furnishings, bold geometric shapes and decadent detail work including opulent chandeliers, bespoke furnishings of soft leather and buttery velvets, and authentic décor.

At first impression, the stunning wall mural on the exterior, designed and completed by artist Jeff George, sets the roaring 2020’s lifestyle mood before entering the grand space. Inside the main doors, we were met with a cavernous multi-purpose room flooded with natural light thanks to the oversized windows spanning from nearly floor to ceiling on one side.

The first-floor features lots of lounge and dining spaces, a vault for private dining and a fully-appointed bar, as well as a fitting room for services such as a cobbler, tailor and haberdasher. On the second floor, members can enjoy the piano lounge, including weekly Friday night musical entertainment, while the basement has an intimate card room and message therapy spa.

A concierge on staff, 24-access and a weekly Thursday to Sunday catered menu from The Settlers Inn, the groups farm-to-table fine dining restaurant, make this beautifully restored facility a unique spot in Hawley. Of course, while we were there, we brought the camera along so you too could see some of the stunning highlights from Vault 240. Check them out below!
