Local Flavor, Traditional Taste
Shake up your next wine tasting trip at Stonekeep Meadery and Wine Cellars in Jim Thorpe. They specialize in mead, a honey wine flavored with fruit, spices, herbs, and malt. It’s one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in the world, dating all the way back to ancient times.
Stonekeep sources all of their ingredients from Pennsylvania. They purchase directly from local farmers and beekeepers. Their Traditional Mead uses a recipe dating back to 1376. It’s brewed with wildflower honey, which gives it a rich golden color. They also make fruity blends like the Blackberry Melomel, a sweet mead that goes great with dessert.
Stonekeep also offers over a dozen varieties of grape wines, including classics like Niagara and Fredonia.
The Jim Thorpe location features a tasting room and store. Be sure to visit their main location and vineyard in Fleetwood, which is just north of Reading. It’s an easy day trip from NEPA.
