Back to basics.

Buff City Soap was founded in 2013 in Memphis, Tennessee. The company’s mission is to create handmade products that are free of harsh ingredients and full of nourishing plant-based goodness. The company was started by two people when they saw the list of ingredients on the back of their soap and didn’t like what they saw. So, from that day forward, they began making soap out of their garage with plant-based ingredients free of any harsh chemicals. They have all your “must have” bath and laundry products, such as bar soap, laundry soap, dryer balls, bath bombs, Epsom salts, truffles, bath fizzies, beard oil, and more!

General Manager Tyler Labar says that what makes Buff City Soap unique is that, “We are plant based and we make everything in store, in front of you! We are rare and unique and like to color outside the lines in our makery! All the magic happens inside our store! We host bath bomb parties for all ages, even after hours, to make sure the moment counts and bring you an extraordinary experience.”

Plant-based, handmade soap

Tyler began his journey in retail jobs when he was 14 and continued throughout college until he became the Assistant Store Manager for 4 years at a high-end clothing store. From there, he decided to make the move to Buff City Soap and “never looked back!”

Tyler says that Buff City Soap decided to open up in our region because this community is a wonderful place for growth and an opportunity to expand the franchise and get plant-based, handmade soap into every household.

Tyler says that the company loves being involved in the local community and has held fundraisers for several schools and sports teams in the area and has donated baskets to local charities and events.
