Local Volunteers, Organizations Celebrate Pennsylvania Day by Giving Back

America250PA Organizes Local Volunteer Effort at CEO/Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank and Across PA.

Thursday, July 20th marked National Pennsylvania Day. To commemorate this, America250PA launched a statewide volunteer day at food banks across the commonwealth.

Earlier today, we joined volunteers of all ages at the CEO Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank in Pittston to fill hundreds of boxes with food. The volunteer effort was part of A250PA’s larger “Pennsylvanians helping Pennsylvanians” initiative. For the event, they paired with Feeding Pennsylvania, a statewide nonprofit association of affiliated food banks, Natural Food Group and The Giant Company. The 2023 campaign marked the third year for the annual day of giving back.

Together, our team of volunteers certainly showed off their PA pride. In just two hours, we helped fill over 300 boxes for local families in need. Considering the severity of food insecurity nationwide, we hope these boxes make some small difference for someone in our community.
