A seamless union of history, music and nature

This nearly 600-acre wildlife sanctuary serves as a fitting reminder that our forests, open meadows, ponds and lakes are special places worth saving. The Dorflinger Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary aims to protect, preserve and maintain this land for future generations.

The sanctuary features several miles of walking trails, flower-filled meadows and ponds teeming with life. The grounds are home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, fox, great blue heron and snapping turtles to name a few. It’s a great place for little ones to discover nature and for the older crowd to rediscover its restorative splendor.

While visiting the sanctuary, guests may also stop in the Dorflinger Glass Museum. This stunning collection offers a glimpse into the origins of the historic property.

During the summer months, the sanctuary comes alive with music as it also plays host to the popular Wildflower Music Festival. This summer-long concert series, held at the natural amphitheater, displays an incredible marriage of artistry and nature not to be missed.

The sanctuary is open to the public year round.
