Just a short ride from the Greater Wilkes-Barre Area and through the Back Mountain you’ll find Harveys Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Pennsylvania by volume. This 621-acre lake that was formed by an ancient glacier boasts a maximum depth of 100+ feet.

Lakeside Drive encircles the lake separating boathouses from residences. Cyclists, walkers, runners, and those out for a leisurely drive share the 8.2-mile, two-lane road.

Full-time residents and seasonal visitors make up the Harveys Lake community. Some buy, some lease, but all enjoy the Lake and its year-round activities. From bountiful fishing and water activities in the spring and summer to pumpkin carving and haunted house tours in the fall, and even ice skating, ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter, there is something for every season.

There’s also a Yacht Club, beach clubs, and a fitness club, and of course, great places to grab a bite to eat. From bar food and fine dining to pizza and potato pancakes, you’ll find it all at Harveys Lake.
