Originally built in 1904, The Shawnee Playhouse now stands as a testament to this quaint Pocono village’s devotion to the arts. Despite its age, this legendary playhouse located in picturesque Shawnee on Delaware still produces 10 – 15 plays and musicals every year.

From the natural stone foundation walls to the old covered porch, this 193-seat theater provides an inviting, cozy atmosphere. The show schedule typically includes a mixture of classic Broadway musicals, newer works and plays and an Original Playwrights Series. The Shawnee Playhouse also offers educational opportunities like internships and their popular summer theater camp.

The Shawnee Playhouse is a community hub for high-quality live theatre and affordable, year-round entertainment. It also serves as a training ground for young theatre performers, writers, stagehands and technicians.
