Free Luzerne County Concert Series Returns to Rock Wilkes-Barre’s River Common
On Friday, July 14, we headed to Downtown Wilkes-Barre’s River Common for the first show of the 5th annual Rockin’ the River concert series. The free event is brought to you by Visit Luzerne County, Luzerne County, and the Riverfront Parks Committee.
The night started out with original music by local artists, The Tribe. Their soulful, funk-infused music quickly got the crowd dancing and perfectly set the stage for a fun night. Satisfaction, an international Rolling Stones tribute band, then took the stage as the evening’s headliner. Their performance was so spot on, it was hard to believe you weren’t actually watching the real thing!
If for any reason you weren’t able to make the show, no worries. There are still two events left this month. On Friday, July 21, you can enjoy An Evening with Stevie: A Tribute to Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac” with opening act, Plus 3. July 28, will be a night filled with original music by The Badlees and opening act Joe Burke & Co.
The Rockin’ the River shows are free and all-ages. Gates open at 5 p.m. and music runs from 6-9 p.m. There will be food vendors and beverages from Susquehanna Brewing Co. and Bank + Vine.
We had an incredible time at Rockin’ the River and we’re sure you will, too! And of course, we brought the camera along so you could see some of the highlights. Check them out below!
