Last week, Pittston celebrated the return of a beloved local establishment, Peculiar Market & Kitchen. This food truck-turned-brick-and-mortar restaurant has been serving the region unique ramen offerings since 2012. Peculiar Kitchen has recently grown to incorporate a marketplace, and we paid a visit to explore it.

As we walked through the door, it was refreshing to see familiar local products for sale such as Pittston Ketchup, Grateful Roast Coffee, and Parlor Beverages. It is clear that they are not only committed to serving delicious food, but also to supporting local businesses as well. 

We then had the privilege to taste some of their most popular menu items including the Peculiar Turkey Sando, the Chicago Bleus, and the daily Avocado “Toast” with Spicy Tuna Poke Tostada. Unsurprisingly, all these dishes were delicious. And of course, it was a delightful reminder of the unique flavors we’ve grown accustomed to.
