With autumn in full swing, it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore the countless hiking trails that Northeastern Pennsylvania has to offer. For this particular adventure, we explored the Cornelia and Florence Bridge Preserve in Milford.

This scenic, 300-acre preserve, a gift from the Bridge family to Dingman Township, is rich with history. Originally purchased from the Pinchot family in 1838, it was later donated in honor of Cornelia and Florence Bridge, who wanted the land to become a public space for all to enjoy. The preserve showcases a beautiful mix of dense forests, wetlands, and meadows, with well-maintained trails that make it easy to capture stunning shots of the local wildlife.

Conveniently located just off Route 6, the preserve provides a serene nature escape without the need for a long drive to find solitude. It was the perfect place to enjoy the invigorating scent of autumn air, while the rich reds, oranges, and yellows of fall foliage brightened the landscape.

In addition to its recreational appeal, the preserve also provided an educational experience, as trail markers shared insights into the local ecosystem and its biodiversity. It’s a true hidden gem for both nature lovers and curious minds alike.
