Stake out your spot along Philadelphia Street for the festival kick off– the Lucy Donnelly Holiday Parade. Starting at 7 PM on November 22, this dazzling procession features illuminated floats inspired by scenes from It’s a Wonderful Life, local marching bands playing holiday classics, and appearances by festival characters. Thousands of bells ring out across town, paying homage to the Christmas classic’s famous line: “every time a bell rings, an angel gets their wings.”

For an entire month after the big parade, the festival continues to spread Christmas cheer. Saturday, December 7 is Holiday Music Saturday where you can listen to the joyful sounds of carols as you enjoy sweet treats, fire pits, and community cheer at various spots throughout the county. On Saturday, December 14, there’s a special Family Day with a cookie tour, holiday trivia, Santa making his rounds, and tons of activities in the local park. Indiana County Tourist Bureau makes a detailed schedule of all the festival happenings, and everything is listed in a big brochure for visitors to easily pick what they want to check out on specific days.
