Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary | Trails, Wildlife & Culture in White Mills

The Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary in White Mills spans nearly 600 acres of protected forests, meadows, ponds and lakes, offering a tranquil setting for walking, wildlife watching and cultural enrichment in the Pocono Lake Region. This preserved natural space serves as a living reminder of the importance of conservation and the value of connecting with the natural world.

Visitors will find several miles of scenic walking trails that wind through flower-filled meadows and alongside peaceful ponds, providing ideal conditions for spotting local wildlife. The sanctuary is home to deer, foxes, great blue herons, turtles and many more species. It’s a place where children can engage with nature and adults can enjoy a quiet retreat from the everyday.

The sanctuary also houses the Dorflinger Glass Museum, where visitors can explore the area’s rich glassmaking history through a remarkable collection of delicate crystal pieces and historical exhibits. During the summer months, the sanctuary transforms into a vibrant performance venue for the Wildflower Music Series. Held in a natural amphitheater, this seasonal concert series brings live music into the woods, offering an unforgettable experience where art and nature meet.

Open year-round, the Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary invites guests of all ages to enjoy its trails, explore its museum and return often for the seasonal programming that makes it a cultural and environmental treasure in Wayne County and the Pocono Mountains.
