Jon Stopay Chocolates opened in Plains in 1946. That’s when Jon Stopay began hand-making Peanut Butter Chiffons, a melt-in-your-mouth-chocolate with a peanut butter center. Today, the chocolate options have expanded and two additional store locations have opened in Lackawanna County, but every chocolate delicacy is still made entirely by hand, often using many of the same recipes that Jon developed.
