Harris Pond | Peaceful fishing & paddling in Sweet Valley
Harris Pond in Sweet Valley is a quiet, 30-acre public reservoir perfect for a relaxing day of fishing or non-motorized boating. Managed by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, this Luzerne County destination offers scenic views and calm waters surrounded by nature. Anglers of all experience levels enjoy fishing for species like largemouth bass, sunfish, bluegills, and perch in its well-stocked waters.
The pond is regulated under Pennsylvania’s Big Bass Program, which helps maintain healthy fish populations. From January 1 to April 14 and again from June 17 to December 31, anglers may keep up to four bass per day, each measuring at least 15 inches. Between April 15 and June 16, all bass must be released. These seasonal rules ensure sustainable fishing while offering plenty of opportunities to reel in impressive catches.
Whether you’re casting a line, launching a kayak, or simply enjoying the natural surroundings, Harris Pond is a peaceful place to unwind in Sweet Valley.
