Mission Statement
Meals on Wheels of Wyoming Valley is a nonprofit organization that provides nutritious, home-delivered, low-cost meals to senior citizens. We also serve people who have been recently discharged from a hospital or nursing home, are convalescing from illness or are unable to prepare meals for themselves.
Meals on Wheels Wyoming Valley delivers nutritious, low-cost meals to those in need in Wilkes-Barre and surrounding communities. They primarily serve senior citizens and homebound people, although they will help anyone in need regardless of age or income.
Over 100 people receive a cold lunch and hot dinner each weekday from Meals on Wheels Wyoming Valley. The affordable meals allow seniors to maintain their independence and remain healthy. However, Meals on Wheels is about more than just feeding those in need. The daily deliveries also brighten people’s days and let them know that someone is checking in on their wellbeing.
Volunteers pack the meals at Church of Christ Uniting in Kingston and deliver them throughout the region.
