The Pocono Heritage Land Trust has been protecting the natural heritage of the Pocono Mountains since 1984. This nonprofit organization is based in East Stroudsburg and helps conserve land throughout the region. They work cooperatively with landowners and local governments to preserve land with environmental, scenic or recreational value.

The Pocono Heritage Land Trust not only protects out local forests and waters, but they also encourage people to discover the wonders of nature. They maintain several nature preserves in Monroe County, which are open to the public.
