From the outside, Polock’s Bar-B-Q & Pizza in Nescopeck is a tiny unassuming brick building, but inside it is a bustling, family owned, take-out only restaurant that’s popular with locals. They are open weekends from November through May, and patrons are advised to phone ahead to avoid a long wait.
Husband and wife founders, Denny and Pearl, began selling their fresh-dough pizza in 1980 at carnivals, festivals, and fairs across the East Coast under the name Denny and Pearl’s. Today they limit their summer business to Pennsylvania locations. The pair is proud to have welcomed their children and grandchildren into the business, ensuring that each stand is manned by a family member to uphold the quality that guests have come to expect.
