Allied Services Integrated Health System is the leading provider of healthcare and human services for northeastern Pennsylvanians with disabilities and chronic illness. The not-for-profit health system started out in 1959; Allied Services Vocational Services Division, the first division created, existed to give individuals with disabilities access to training and employment opportunities. Allied Services as we know it today grew out of that original mission to serve the needs of adults with disabilities who wanted to be part of the workforce.

Today, whether providing physical rehabilitation, vocational training, residential or day services, hospice or palliative care, skilled nursing, personal care, in-home care, behavioral and other community services, their 3,000 plus employees and volunteers work to help people with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illness overcome challenges and reach their greatest potential.

Allied Services delivers world-class physical rehabilitation thanks to cutting-edge rehab technology and highly credentialed, experienced and compassionate staff. Their inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre are known throughout the region for rehabilitation programs and expertise in the areas of brain injury, stroke and comprehensive integrated inpatient rehabilitation programs for adults. The 371-bed Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton delivers long and short-term care. The facility is home to the region’s only dedicated post-acute respiratory unit and provides dementia and memory care. Their 15 outpatient rehab centers span Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe and Wyoming County.

Most recently, Allied Services has established a Community Based Palliative Care program aimed at relieving pain and other symptoms that burden people living with chronic illness. In early 2018, Allied Services added to its continuum of care with Allied Services Hospice Center, a brand new, 8-bed facility in Scranton.
