Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter works to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter | Support, care & research advocacy in Wilkes-Barre
The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter serves Northeastern Pennsylvania from its office in Wilkes-Barre. For more than 25 years, this nonprofit has led efforts in the state to address Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias through direct support, caregiver resources and public education. As part of the national Alzheimer’s Association, the chapter is committed to improving quality of life for those affected while advancing global research.
Comprehensive Services for Families & Caregivers
The chapter provides essential services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. These include support groups, helpline access, care consultations and community education programs. Health professionals also benefit from resources and training designed to improve dementia care across the region.
NEPA’s Role in a Global Movement
The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s at PNC Field in Moosic brings the NEPA community together in the fight against the disease. The event raises critical funds for care, support services and scientific research, while honoring those affected by Alzheimer’s. Participation helps fuel a growing movement toward treatment breakthroughs and compassionate care.
