Mission Statement

Epilepsy Foundation Eastern Pennsylvania’s mission is to stop seizures and SUDEP, find a cure and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy through efforts including education, advocacy and research to accelerate ideas into therapies.

Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania | Support & education for seizure awareness in Wilkes-Barre

The Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre is a nonprofit committed to empowering individuals with epilepsy and seizure disorders. Through free programs and community education, the organization works to reduce stigma, raise awareness and provide direct support for people of all ages affected by epilepsy. Their work fosters understanding and promotes safety throughout the region.

Training That Saves Lives

The foundation offers free Seizure Recognition and First Aid Training to law enforcement, teachers, first responders and community members. These sessions, many of which offer CEUs, prepare participants to respond effectively to seizures. Age-appropriate programs are also offered for students in grades K–12 to help them better understand epilepsy and support their peers.

Comprehensive Support for Every Stage

Monthly support group meetings and wellness programs offer meaningful connection and resources to children, youth and adults. Special initiatives include Camp Achieve, young adult retreats, adult cognition support and Youth Achieve. All programs are offered at no cost to ensure access for every individual and family.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania provides life-changing education, advocacy and support for individuals and families across Wilkes-Barre.
