Mission Statement

Grey Towers Heritage Association’s mission is to assist the US Forest Service in education, improvements, promotion, conservation and wise use of Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, Pennsylvania.

The Grey Towers Heritage Association (GTHA) is a nonprofit organization based in Milford, PA, dedicated to supporting the U.S. Forest Service in preserving, promoting & enhancing the Grey Towers National Historic Site. Once the home of famed conservationist Gifford Pinchot, Grey Towers is a symbol of America’s early environmental movement. GTHA works to ensure this landmark remains an accessible, educational, and inspiring place for future generations.

Educating the Public & Promoting Conservation Values

GTHA actively promotes public understanding of Grey Towers’ historical significance and its connection to national conservation policy. Through guided tours, printed materials, and educational outreach, the organization highlights the site’s legacy as the birthplace of modern forest conservation and a home to one of the country’s most influential environmental thinkers.

Supporting Events & Interpretive Programming

The association also enriches visitor engagement through events such as the “Lunch & Learn” series, which explores topics ranging from American history to music and cultural heritage. Ongoing Preservation & Heritage Projects

In partnership with the Forest Service, GTHA leads key heritage projects including the Forest Discovery Trail, Fire Tower Project, and restoration of the Laurel Hill Burial Ground.
