Mission Statement
Keystone Mountain Bike Team | Nonprofit empowering youth through cycling & community in Lackawanna County
The Keystone Mountain Bike Team is a nonprofit, co-ed youth cycling team based in Lackawanna County, PA, dedicated to promoting physical fitness, teamwork & outdoor adventure for students in grades 6–12. As part of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League (PICL) and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), the team encourages healthy habits, builds confidence, and fosters a love of mountain biking through skill development and community engagement.
More Than Just a Bike Team
While riding is central to their mission, the Keystone Mountain Bike Team offers more than just trails and races. Riders learn how to care for their gear, maintain trails and support one another—building friendships and life skills along the way. The team emphasizes inclusivity and sportsmanship, creating a welcoming environment for all riders regardless of experience level. Each practice or event is an opportunity to grow physically, mentally & socially.
Connecting Riders to the Outdoors
By participating in local trail-building efforts and community events, team members give back to the outdoor spaces they enjoy, learning the value of stewardship and sustainability. Whether they’re pedaling through wooded paths or helping clear and maintain those very trails, riders become part of a team culture rooted in respect, resilience & fun.
The Keystone Mountain Bike Team helps youth build strength, friendships & confidence through cycling, teamwork & outdoor exploration in Lackawanna County.
