Meals on Wheels of Greater Pittston is a nonprofit organization that has served the Greater Pittston community since 1969. Part of a national network of over 5,000 Meals on Wheels programs, this local initiative delivers nutritious, low-cost meals directly to the homes of seniors and homebound individuals in Pittston and surrounding communities.
Daily Meals With a Personal Touch
Volunteers prepare and deliver both lunch and dinner to approximately 60 clients each day. These meals support the health and well-being of recipients, ensuring no one has to go hungry due to age, mobility issues, or financial hardship. The program plays a crucial role in helping seniors remain independent in their own homes.
More Than a Meal
Each delivery provides more than just food—it offers daily contact and emotional support. For many seniors, a Meals on Wheels volunteer may be the only person they see all day. These visits provide reassurance, connection, and a vital check-in on their well-being.
