Mission Statement
NEPA Pet Fund & Rescue’s primary mission is to reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Northeast PA and our southern states.
Northeast PA Pet Fund & Rescue | Love, care & second chances in Scranton
Northeast PA Pet Fund & Rescue is a nonprofit, foster-based animal rescue organization serving the Greater Scranton area. Since 2013, the group has saved more than 1,400 homeless dogs and cats, driven by a mission grounded in respect, integrity, love, trust, accountability, and compassion. Their approach ensures that every animal receives the individual care and support it needs to heal and thrive.
Rescue, Foster & Adopt
The organization rescues animals through local owner surrenders, shelter partnerships, and transport programs from at-risk areas in the South. Each rescued animal is placed in a loving foster home where they receive personalized attention, medical care, and emotional support until they’re ready for adoption. This foster-first model ensures a smoother transition into permanent homes.
Lifelong Care for Special Animals
Some animals, due to age, health conditions, or trauma, are not candidates for adoption. These pets find a forever sanctuary with the rescue itself, where they continue to receive the comfort and care they deserve.
Northeast PA Pet Fund & Rescue continues to build a compassionate community through animal rescue, foster care, and lifelong support in Scranton.
