Mission Statement
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) protects and restores the natural and built environments through innovation, collaboration, education and advocacy. PEC believes in the value of partnerships with the private sector, government, communities and individuals to improve the quality of life for all Pennsylvanians.
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) develops conservation projects and advocates for policies that address environmental issues. They have six offices across the state, including a location in Luzerne.
Founded in 1970, PEC combines policy work with on-the-ground programs. They spend time in the field improving water quality, encouraging clean energy, educating the public and promoting trails and outdoor recreation. This non-partisan organization also researches the latest environmental issues and advocates for legislative, regulatory and policy change. PEC collaborates with the public and private sectors to find solutions that benefit the environment and all stakeholders.
