The Pike County Historical Society was first organized as a Chamber of Commerce committee before officially incorporating in 1930. Arthur Adams served as the first president, and Governor Gifford Pinchot was named honorary president. Early exhibitions were displayed at Forrest Hall before the society secured a permanent home.
The Columns Mansion
In the early 1980s, the society purchased The Columns, a 1904 neo-classical mansion in Milford. Over the decades, the building served as a restaurant, nightclub, private residence, and VFW post. Today, it houses the museum’s collections, archives, and rotating exhibitions.
