Mission Statement
United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania is dedicated to meeting the needs of local low-income families, seniors, youth, and new immigrants while also empowering them to attain self-sufficiency. To achieve this work, UNC encompasses five programmatic departments (Community Services, Children and Teens, Community Education, Community Revitalization, and Community Health and Aging) and a Housing/Community Development Corporation. Through this diverse programming, UNC uses an innovative wrap-around approach to address the emerging needs of the community it serves.

This nonprofit organization provides community-driven services rooted in dignity, equity and opportunity. From youth and senior programs to food access and housing support, UNC empowers people throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania to build better futures.
Comprehensive Services Rooted in Community Need
UNC fulfills its mission through six departments: Community Services, Children and Teens, Older Adult Programs, Community Education, Community Revitalization and Community Health. Each program is tailored to address both immediate needs and long-term goals. Services include after-school care, youth mentoring, wellness programs, food distribution, workforce readiness and support for aging populations. These programs are designed to uplift individuals while building stronger families and neighborhoods.
Building Opportunity & Strength Through Development
UNC also leads community revitalization through its Housing and Community Development Corporation. This division focuses on expanding access to affordable housing and stabilizing neighborhoods. Projects support economic development, encourage homeownership and strengthen community pride. By aligning services with real-life challenges, UNC helps create sustainable pathways for personal and collective growth.
