Mission Statement
The Wilkes-Barre NAACP’s principal objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of minority group citizens and to advocate equality of rights and eliminate race prejudice among the citizens of the United States.

The Wilkes-Barre National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) #2306, also known as the Diamond City Branch, is a nonprofit organization committed to securing political, educational, social & economic equality for all people in Wilkes-Barre and surrounding communities. As a local branch of one of the nation’s oldest and most respected civil rights organizations, the Wilkes-Barre NAACP works to eliminate racial prejudice and advocate for justice, inclusion and equal opportunity.
