Woody’s Place Senior German Shepherd Sanctuary | A peaceful retirement for senior dogs in Greentown
Woody’s Place Senior German Shepherd Sanctuary in Greentown is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing long-term care for displaced and abandoned German Shepherds aged eight and older. Since 2011, the sanctuary has offered aging dogs a second chance at life—filled with comfort, compassion and stability. Known as “a place in the country where old dogs come to retire,” Woody’s Place ensures each dog receives love, safety and dignity in their final years.
Care That Meets Every Need
Many of the dogs at Woody’s Place are permanent residents who require ongoing medical attention and support. The sanctuary carefully manages their health, mobility and comfort, offering customized care plans that include proper nutrition, medical treatment and enrichment activities. When possible, Woody’s Place adopts dogs into new homes, but many remain in sanctuary care for the rest of their lives.
A Mission Built on Compassion
With a quiet, country setting and a deep commitment to animal welfare, Woody’s Place focuses on quality of life over quantity of placement. Visits are available by appointment only to ensure that the dogs remain in a peaceful, stress-free environment. Every dog welcomed into the sanctuary is treated like family.
Woody’s Place Senior German Shepherd Sanctuary gives aging dogs the love, care and security they deserve in their golden years in Greentown.
