KMMK Communications -- Serving all of NEPA
Kelly Kostanesky started KMMK Communications in 2021 so she could focus on serving nonprofit organizations. “I’m a longtime volunteer with nonprofits in Northeastern PA so it is a sector that I’m very passionate about. The reason why I love communications work so much is the ability to give a voice to those smaller organizations that need to build their awareness in the community, so I thought it was the perfect fit for me to branch out with my own business and help shine a light on the great work these organizations are doing,” says Kelly.
The four main product pillars of KMMK Communications are strategic planning; marketing, communications plans, and written content (including social media posts, website copy, newsletters, press releases, executive leadership pieces, etc); fundraising strategies and campaigns; and donor relation campaigns.
“I’ve expanded my scope more and more since founding my company to focus not only on the communications side of things but also on the necessary messaging nonprofits need to build relationships with donors and build out the fundraising and development side of their organization,” says Kelly.
A Marketer’s Story & A Storyteller’s Voice
Kelly began her career in sports journalism with the Standard-Speaker newspaper in Hazleton.
She worked there for over 13 years before transitioning into public relations in 2015. With her background in both journalism and public relations, she combines a marketer’s strategy and a storyteller’s voice. Kelly is passionate about helping nonprofits not only get their message out but build personal and lasting relationships with the people they serve, their donors, corporate partners and sponsors and the entire community, and she loves being a relationship builder!
Kelly was born and raised in NEPA, and according to her, “the people and the deep sense of community and pride in helping others is absolutely why it’s the best place to do business.”
Kelly is invested in the community personally by being a member of the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber’s Ambassador Committee, where she gets to greet new businesses and attend their ribbon cuttings. She’s also a longtime volunteer at Good Shepherd Church in Drums and with the Greater Hazleton Unit of the American Cancer Society. Outside of work, she is a huge sports fan and passionately roots for the Duke University men’s basketball team and the Buffalo Bills. She also loves spending time with her family, especially her “babies:” her dog, Bruty, and her cat, Grover.
