The Carbondalien Festival returns to downtown Carbondale on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This unique community celebration is inspired by the legendary 1974 UFO sighting at Carbondale’s Silt Pond—a mysterious event that continues to spark curiosity and local pride.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pre-festival activities, browse Carbondale’s local shops, and sample the town’s restaurants.
Festival day officially kicks off at The Landing Pad in the Downtown Business District, where attendees will find live music, a vibrant vendor marketplace, and surprise guest appearances.
At the historic crash site, visitors can experience guided reenactments of the UFO landing, along with food, activities, and entertainment for Earthlings of all ages.
