Community Cleanup Jessup Park and Ride at the Jessup Park and Ride in Jessup takes place on Wednesday, April 22 at 6 PM. This volunteer cleanup focuses on Route 247 and surrounding areas, where participants will help remove litter along a busy roadway and nearby wooded sections.
Organized by Northeastern Group in partnership with the Valley Community Library, Lackawanna County Environmental Office and Keep NEPA Beautiful, the event also includes a detailed litter study. Volunteers will help track and analyze collected debris to better understand local environmental impact.
Due to traffic conditions and road crossings, this moderate level event is limited to participants ages 18 and older. Volunteers should be prepared for walking on a mountain grade and working along roadside areas.
All supplies are provided, including trash bags, gloves, safety vests and signage. Participants are encouraged to bring water and may bring their own gloves or grabbers if preferred. The event will take place rain or shine, with adjustments made if necessary.
