Community Seed and Plant Exchange | Susquehanna County Library, Montrose
Saturday, February 21, 2026 | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
Community Seed and Plant Exchange takes place at the Susquehanna County Library in Montrose on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Hosted with the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Susquehanna County, this free event invites gardeners of all experience levels to swap seeds and share houseplants while picking up practical growing tips.
Attendees can bring unused, viable vegetable, herb, or flower seeds (commercial or saved) and pest-free houseplants to exchange. Seeds saved from hybrid plants are discouraged since they may not grow true-to-type. Guests are encouraged to share what they can and take what they need, with Master Gardeners providing base stock and unique varieties to help fill the exchange tables.
Seeds should be portioned for sharing and clearly labeled, with small bags or coin envelopes recommended; envelopes will be available on site. Houseplants should be potted (no bare root balls) and labeled. Master Gardener volunteers will also be available to answer home gardening questions and help diagnose houseplant issues.
Walk-ins are welcome and pre-registration is not required. Questions can be directed to 570-666-9003 or susquehannamg@psu.edu.
