Learn American Sign Language with David Piehota will take place at the Hazleton Art League in Hazleton on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 14 through April 29, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The three-week course includes six classes introducing participants to the basics of American Sign Language.
Students will practice foundational vocabulary and communication techniques while learning the structure and dynamics of this unique visual language. The class will also introduce elements of Deaf culture and explore different modes of sign language used within the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
Designed for beginners, the program offers an engaging and welcoming environment where participants can build new language skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Deaf culture.
The course is open to teens and adults ages 13 and older.
Nonmember Cost: $110 (includes $5 material fee)
